This year's Fields Pianos Jazz Festival was a lot of fun for Rob and the band. Rob also taught two workshops on TV and Film composing.

Rob's Galaxy 12 CD "may turn out to be a classic of the space music genre" according to Progression magazine, a leading rock music periodical.

It's that time of year again.

October a very busy month.

Los Angeles, CA-November 1, 2001

Hello everyone, and welcome to the November 2001 news here at planetmullins.com
October was a madhouse with the addition of the Fields Piano Jazz Festival which was a big success over the weekend of October 18.
Attendance was great and I am so appreciative of so many of you coming out to enjoy the concert.
If you didn't make it, you really missed two great free concerts. Three pianists each night, with a ton of workshops during the days, most of them free.
It was cool seeing some New York musicians including Dave Frank and Judy Carmichael come out to join in the fun, and even more cool to see so much
community spirit in West LA. Special thanks go to Steve Likens, David Ida, Rick Rice, Sherree Baker, and everyone at Fields for giving our community such a great
contribution. Fields will be having me perform next year at both the Santa Ana and Tustin locations. I'm looking forward to that.

Yamaha's press people over at Giles Communications were nice enough to get us some copies of the the recent article in Accent about me and the new Disklavier CD
right before the Fields Festival. It was a really cool article about the Boys and Girls Club Event and the new Rob Mullins CD "Welcome to Planetmullins." Its a great write up, but I was bummed that the whole story of how I met Lori Rodgers down at Spag's and how Dennis Sampieri introduced me to the Disklavier didn't make it into the write up. Oh well, you guys know how much I appreciate you.

Many of you have been asking about a consumer version of the CD. I won't have time to think about that until sometime next year, but I hope to look into it
after the first of the year. Greg and I both released CD's this year, my "2001" CD  (you can only buy that at a live show) and his "Gospel Truth."

Galaxy 12 got a rave review in Progression magazine's end of this year issue. Thanks to Larry Nai for sharing the beauty of that project with those readers.

November promises to be pretty busy trying to wrap up fall tv season projects, continue the weekend gigs and doing my teaching days. Hope all of you stay safe
and smart through our current world situation. Come to a live show...it will make you feel great.  God Bless!

Rob
