ROB Expands his teaching program
and launches his first music book.
Hiya folks, how could it be May already? The weather still can't make
up its mind or what? Anyways, on to the news!
I've been laying pretty low the past few weeks as one of my piano students
finally talked me into writing my first book for piano players. I have
been wanting to do a book series for a long time but things are always
just so hectic.....
So now, after weeks of sitting staring at computers (again) I'm proud
to say that my first music book is done, online, and for sale. WOOHOO!
The book is called "Jazz Piano Voicings for
Blue, Rock, and Classical Musicians." It gives piano players, producers,
home keyboard players, singers, and
anyone with a computer the best of the jazzy chords like the ones I've
been playing my whole life. I'm pretty stoked about having it done. More
about the book
HERE.
For those of you that are really getting tired of me doing something
other than playing all over the earth with the band, we do have some cool
news...Jimmy Roberts is with us Friday night along with Steve Stevens at
Kikuya. Jimmy came through a couple weeks ago, and blew everybody away,
it was really cool. DON'T MISS
the MAY 3 SHOW!.
Also, its great to be able to announce that I'm doing a Santa Monica
venue on the 23rd of May, the MONSOON
CAFE. Recent RMB drummer CORY MASON turned me onto it, and i went
to check it out a couple of weeks ago, its a fabulous joint with a good
piano. COOL. Jazz night there is on THURSDAYS,
and the gig is at 9 PM. 7$ cover gets you into a warm comfortable room
full of trendy and film industry types chilling out to great sounds till
11:30. I'm stoked about this one, please come support Greg Vail and myself
and make our opening night a hit!
OTHER NEWS:
I'm expanding my teaching schedule over the summer since there isn't
much TV work, so if you know of someone needing professional music instruction,
send them HERE
Also, Greg and I have been booking some summer festivals...oh man,
and next month there will be a release date on my YAMAHA CD, stay
tuned...hmmm, what else...oh, and I'm 3/4 the way done with a new solo
piano record, hmmm....I think that's it for now. GO LAKERS!
All the best,
Rob Mullins
