hi everybody, and welcome to the JULY 2001 news from planetmullins.com....
it was a busy month in june, and the first thing
i need to do is to thank everyone for coming out to the greg vail cd release
party....
we had a fantastic crowd, the band sounded amazing,
greg sold a lot of cd's and we played new tunes from his project which
was way cool.
if you missed the party, you might want to drop
by greg's site and grab a cd so that you can check out his new project.
it turned out great!
i can't believe july is here already and that
we are already going into the summer full force...i have had so much stuff
to do as per usual, that i've been losing
all track of time.
there are a lot of special events coming up this
month....jimmy roberts from the rod stewart band is dropping by the first
weekend (july 6-7) and taking
greg's place for a minute. if you haven't caught
us with jimmy before, you will enjoy hearing a new sound in the band....and
some really long solos...LOL.

eric marienthal has asked me to guest at his high
hopes benefit concert this year, and i am happy to be doing that one. its
on the 15th at the hyatt newporter hotel.

spaghettini will be closed this week for a remoding job which will include them adding the new yamaha piano i picked out for the club. word is that they will reopen friday the 6th in time for my gig...
one of my long time fans called out of the blue
this week and is now in charge of entertainment at a great LA club...i
am going down this week to check it out. they have a piano and a sound
system and a sound man!!! (that rox). i am on the schedule for there in
august and we will get you all the details over email in advance. i know
the LA fans from barfly and rocco and lunaria will love this place....stay
tuned....
i've been hard at work in the studio on something
for fashion television...will probably have it up in the listening room
soon...so watch that page...

recently....there is now an audio welcome on the main page, and two large
net radio broadcasts you can check out that i did especially for you for

hmmm, what else.....the showtime tv show i was
working on earlier this year starts up the new season in august, and i
will be working on it...that will be great.
i'm the white guy who gets called to work on
all the black shows...go figure...
on the web, i found some great stuff lately when
i got the new version of real player...groove radio.com is for you dance
freaks, its 24/7, and i love it.
comedy central is doing some nice broadcasts
from the real player as well...this guy adam carrera has had me OTF lately...
i got a nice letter from the national british
museum about my cd catalog which i finally got off to them. andrew simons,
the curator, sent me a nice note letting me know that my old denver buddy
spike robinson is still cooking over in london (he must be 70 by
now)...getting my catalog added to that museum is like having
all of your poems in the smithsonian...its quite
an honor. you can check out their archives of rare and very cool

paul russo, a longtime buddy and wed night fav at spag's from the derek bordeaux band will be joining me on july 13th at spag for one night only. that will be a great show...i've know paul forever and he is a great player. if you have every wanted to hear more of him, that will be the night to come.
i'm happy to announce a new interview coming up in august with jerry vivino from the conan o'brien show...jerry is a cool guy and we worked together last year out in new york. it will be interesting to see what he says about life performing on that show and to see what he is up to with his own thing....more in august on that one.
