Planetmullins July 2000 News: YIKES! more live gigs, yes, live gigs, and more live gigs!
Planetmullins July 2000 news
Hey everybody, hope you had a nice holiday over the 4th!
Things here are
just manic, I don't know how else to describe them.
Praise God for all the cool stuff that is going on! I just got back from vacation,
and I'm already ready to go again. This is too much!
This is the weekend where I'm all over the place...with Spag's on Friday, the Jazz On
The Waterfront Show with my band on Saturday, Jazz On The Waterfront with Samantha Siva
Sunday morning, and the Eric Marienthal High Hopes Benefit Concert Sunday evening in
Newport Beach. I am praying to the airline gods to not be late or lose any of my stuff because
I am going to be cutting it pretty close! Hope to see you at one of the gigs over the weekend!
I had thought that things might slow down at bit next week, but its the preparation
for the new straight ahead band's debut that is keeping me crazy through next week as
I have the whole songlist to organize, new songs to write, charts to print (don't ask,
I'm screaming at the Mac as I sit here LOL), rehearsals to do, flyers to send, snail email
fax and phone lists to cover, yikes..did I say YIKES enough times yet?
YIKES!
After two Wednesdays at the Sunset Room (sorry I didn't have time to post the address and phone a couple weeks ago),
the China Club Band will no longer be performing there into the future. The second gig was
pretty hilarious there as the power to the stage went off about every 15 minutes and
we played in the dark like a spinal tap band most of the night. We did do the wedding
party for Sandra Bullock's best friend this past Sunday though, and that was pretty interesting.
Sandra was very nice (and short) and her boyfriend did a few songs with us which was pretty cool.
Other items in the news are the annual Boys and Girls clubs Benefit Concert coming up at
the Pasadena Civic Auditorium (thanks to my fan Cathy for hooking me up with this one-much more detailed
information including the line up coming next month), a possible movie score (yeah, of course
they called and want it done yesterday which means I will be trying to add that workload
to everything else next week), some future software licensing stuff for some songs I wrote,
and too much else to remember without totally frying out right at the moment. Did I say YIKES
enough times yet? YIKESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...............
Anyway, its been so nice to see so many people from Kikuya making the trek out to Spag's now,
and it was a treat to have Larry Antonino back last friday to play bass and sing, what a talent he is!
