Laura Harrison: My boss is a big fan of your work, especially your paintings.
How did you get started being an artist?
Thomas Haney: Wow, first question and I'm stumped------"started" can't remember, think I
always have been doing some form of art or another.
Laura Harrison: I noticed from your website that you do several different kinds of art.
Do you have a favorite?
Thomas Haney: My favorite artistic endeavor is whatever is at hand. Painting, Sculpture or
Digital doesn't matter----one may lead to another for a final rendering.
Laura Harrison: What inspires you to create?
Thomas Haney: My inspiration comes from, dreams, music and a love for beauty and life.
Laura Harrison: Is art something that you do full time?
Thomas Haney: Yes my art is full time, has been for 20 years.
Laura Harrison: Do you feel you have responsibilities to the public as an artist, or do
you do it just for your own enjoyment?
Thomas Haney: Responsibilities to the public----not really, I feel tho, compelled to give
my absolute best, anything less is trash.
Laura Harrison: What new techniques are available now that weren't available when you
first started doing art?
Thomas Haney: The Computer !
Laura Harrison: Do you think that art is a viable career choice for a young person today?
Thomas Haney: Only if the person is totaly committed to their art, willing to pay the price
in all respects--- A wishy washy approch will doom the career to crash and
burn.
Laura Harrison: Does your geographic location affect the type of things you create?
Thomas Haney: Yes, I live in the country, very isolated------so a most peaceful
environment.
Laura Harrison: Anything else you would like to say about your work?
Thomas Haney: Let the art speak for itself, if it doesn't, extra words sure won't help.
