Rates, Payment Policies, Lesson Times, Other Information

  • Rates vary due to the highly diverse nature of the professional curriculums presented. Our representative will discuss it with you to work out the details. Student2Artist students have a much more intensive schedule than others because of the recording of their personal audio CD.
  • I teach on Thursdays and Saturdays during the day in Marina Del Rey,I do not teach on other days of the week. I only teach at my studios. I don't drive to private lessons. I will fly to your college or school to present workshops at your Jazz Camp, Festival, High School, or University.
  • A personal representative will speak with you before you sign up and answer any questions you have about the privatelessons program. Click here to email a personal representative to get started.
  • Students buy and I reserve their time slot. There is no cancellation policy.
  • Late students-If you are late to your lesson you must call the studio and estimate how late you are going to be. Your lesson will begin when you arrive and end at the previously scheduled ending time.
  • Materials-Dependent on what your musical needs are, I will determine what material you will need to purchase for your area of study. You will probably need to get books. Every week, you will need to bring blank staff paper in a book form so that I can write your exercises and assignments in it. If you are studying an area of music that requires listening to a CD or having a midi keyboard, you will need to bring a CD player or your midi keyboard, laptop, or other equipment. If you need to make other arrangements, you need to call and make those on the Monday previous to your lesson.
  • I do not allow visitors to observe, take notes or join you at a private lesson unless you are taking a class. If you must have someone in the studio with you, they will be charged the same rate as you. The studio has a nice big music store attached to it where parents, friends, etc, can wait  and there are plenty of restaurants nearby for people who are waiting to pick you up, or waiting for you to finish.
  • You may tape your lessons because I cover so much material so quickly. When you have a question during the week about your lesson, you can refer to your tape. Do not call the office to discuss your lesson. The other days of the week we are running a recording studio, I am touring and doing live shows at night. You cannot make copies of the lesson tapes or sell them, put them on the web, or use them for anything other than your private use.
  • You must make at least a three month commitment if you are beginning student for my programs to work for you. If you decide to stop after the three months is completed, let us know at least two weeks in advance.
  • All applicants must appear for a talent evaluation session before being admitted to the program.
